I prefer high polling rates and I adjust the mouse speed in windows to compensate for the higher speed. Until that point I will stick to my wired mouse and use a mouse bungee.Īs far as high polling being a gimmick, it depends on the gamer. Now if some company would make a slick as hell mousepad that was in fact a wireless charger combined with a decent gaming grade mouse, I would make the jump back to wireless. Being the forgetful type I would forget to charge it and the one day I need it fully charged would be the day I get a day off of work and want to do a marathon gaming session. I'm sure with current batteries they will last months. I do not want to deal with more batteries, plugging things in to charge or moving it to a dock. Fortunately, this isn't much of a problem anymore. For high twitch FPS gaming, even the chance of latency or interference is something to avoid. With old wireless mice there was a chance for latency and interference. However, the G502 seems to be a fantastic "general use/gaming" mouse and is available right now. Of course, I'm guessing that the 2015 crop of mice will be announced at the Jan/Feb tradeshows, so if you can wait, this may not be a bad idea if you have a specialized interest in one sort or another.

Not sure how expensive it is - has some neat features though ) but if you want to buy now, the G502 Proteus Core seems to be a great option, especially for the price. Oh it may not be what you're looking for, but another good option now I hear is the Roccat Tyon. There are some neat looking things on the horizon (Roccat Nyth for instance.

Its certainly not a bad mouse at all and for a wireless model I'd suggest it to be a good option, but it seems like the G502 is a bit more advanced when it comes to the featuresetįor what you want to spend, I don't think you'll do much better than the G502 Proteus Core. It isn't bad by far and has a similar number of buttons as the 502, but differently aligned. The G602 is wireless but it is a "generation" older than the newest "named" Logitech mice. not to mention its performance is top of the line for the price! I've been reading that it is one of the best gaming mice around - fantastic sensor, lots of useful buttons, dual-mode scroll wheel (clicks or flying) that also rocks left and right, high quality omron switches, decent ergonomics if right handed, onboard memory/chip, custom weights etc. Unless you're really emphatic about wireless for some reason, I would easily go with the G502 Proteus Core. Razer got my money - 5 of them in 9 years. but weak build qualities except for the MS wheel mouse optical I used for 4 years before I upgraded to Diamondback.

Feel free to recommend other stuff, but I don't want to spend more than $60-65 max.Ģ Diamondbacks (wire got loose both times - I had no warranty on one of them as I got it used)ģ Deathadders (Left clicker screwed on all 3) How is the response-time? I do NOT like acceleration! My mousepad is Razer Goliathus Control btw. Only issue I see with G602 is battery usage - I wish it was rechargeable.

I do some gaming and I use my PC daily for extensive periods (for blogging, some programming, etc). I don't have any specific requirements TBH. Anyone try both mices? How do they differ in feel? I couldn't find any reviews comparing the two. Now I'm debating between G502 and the wireless G602. I liked the shape too as it was similar to my MS Wheel mouse optical I had in mid-2000s. I know the 2013 edition is out, but 3 with same issue is one too many. I opened it up and cleaned left-clicker multiple times with electronic cleaner. I was looking to throw my Razer Deathadder in the garbage can for life after getting the famous double-click issue on my 3rd deathadder in a row in 6 years.
